It's All About The Money
For several years CFJ has been collecting evidence regarding a wide variety of instances of what we affectionately call "legal robbery". In an estimated 40% or more of the cases we've examined, families have had to spend more than one years' full salary in family court to keep the right to see and parent their natural children. Many of our members have had as many as five professionals at a time added to their "payroll" by court orders to a parent to retain and pay for services from specific persons (in addition to their own experts and attorney). This is akin to a court ordering a person to buy a specific piece of property or a specific product and pay for it out of his/her own resources. This section of our web site will shock you when you realize the means used to legally rob a family of its life savings
  • Cold-hearted Judge Angela Jewell whisks money away from the mouths of children to enrich court-appointed attorney and Guardian ad Litem Mary Chappelle (a favored crony of the Court) and then uses the flimsy excuse that the indigent mother did not ask for reconsideration of the abusive order in the "right" way. Is this a game of judicial "mother-may-I?" with the children's best interest at sacrifice?
  • Court-appointed Guardian ad Litem (GAL), attorney Mary Chappelle, filed a motion asking for attorney's fees. However, in the height of presumption and privilege, Mary Chappelle fails to file an affidavit for the amount of fees she is owed or to provide any evidence of billing to Judge Jewell at the hearing of this matter.
  • Judge Angela Jewell is responsible for a young child taking medication not approved by FDA, then she allowed an encumbrance of mother's sole property by father when mother emigrated back to her home country to escape the Bernalillo County Family Court oppression.
  • Father loses custody of his daughter because he objected to demands for CASH from court-appointed visitation supervisor, Paul LaBarre
  • Prominent family law attorney and court-appointed Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Lynda Latta shows her real motives in the accompanying mp3 digital recording. Although the Court has charged her with the best interest of the child, she rejects the child's best interest in lieu of her own interests, demanding up-front payment of thousands from this concerned father. It's all about the money!! This is not an isolated incident in the GAL world - our members see it all the time. It is incidents like this that make it clear that GALs should not have immunity of any kind. Lynda Latta should be sued for her behavior, particularly if her inattention to the child's needs while pressuring the father for money is detrimental to the child in any way. Even if a child were not involved, Lynda Latta's tactics look just like those of mafia king pens in the days of old. If you have a similar story about Lynda Latta, please contact us at info@family-justice.org (505/319-3486).

  • The Great Diamond Caper. Carl Vidal's net worth in New Mexico was over a million dollars until the family court latched on to him and his assets. He owned property and four businesses in Gallup, NM. He also had two children, aged 13 and 15 when it all began with a divorce and custody case. Today he cannot take out a loan; his credit is ruined. In the end, a court order took a private stock of registered diamonds deemed his sole property during the divorce and split them between his ex-wife and a number of attorneys on the case. The court actually doled out Carl's diamonds to attorneys. find out more...
